The Southern Group calls on the United Nations for an effective response to combat the phenomenon of supporting terrorist groups in the south with weapons from areas controlled by the Houthi forces.

Representative Nasr Al-Eisawi of the Independent Southern Group delivered a significant speech at the general session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on October 5, 2023, with the attendance of delegations from all countries worldwide. The United Nations was urged to provide an effective response to combat the phenomenon of supporting terrorist groups in the south with weapons from areas controlled by the Houthi forces.
He informed the council that liberated southern Yemen is under the threat of mobilized terrorist organizations, endangering security and stability in the region. The latest incident includes the targeting of the Security Belt leader in Abyan province, where extremist groups like Al-Qaeda have recently spread, supported by weapons from areas controlled by Houthi supporters in the north. This underscores the need for an effective response to combat this phenomenon.

Mr. President,
The Vienna Declaration has strongly condemned severe and systematic human rights violations still occurring in various parts of the world. This declaration emphasizes the importance of dealing seriously with violations, including torture, harsh treatment, summary and arbitrary executions, forced disappearances, and illegal detentions.
The significance of this declaration is evident in the Yemeni context, where the country faces significant human rights challenges. Liberated southern Yemen lives under the threat of mobilized terrorist organizations, jeopardizing security and stability in the region. The latest incident involves the targeting of the Security Belt leader in Abyan province, leading to the recent spread of extremist groups like Al-Qaeda, supported by weapons from areas controlled by Houthi supporters in the north. This requires an effective response to combat this phenomenon.
Mr. President,
The current circumstances in Yemen demand the international community's joint efforts to enhance security and stability, provide support to affected populations, and promote dialogue and understanding.
Directing our recommendations to the international community is a necessary step to shoulder the responsibility for these challenges and work collectively to achieve a sustainable and secure environment for the people in Yemen and other affected regions globally.

قدم ممثل المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة الاستاذ نصر العيسائي كلمة هامة في الجلسة العامة لمجلس الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الانسان في جنيف وبحضور كل وفود دول العالم يوم الخميس ٥ اكتوبر ٢٠٢٣، حيث دعى الامم المتحدة لإستجابة فعالة لمكافحة ظاهرة دعم الجماعات الارهابية في الجنوب بالسلاح
من مناطق سيطرة الحوثيين .
كما ابلغ المجلس ، ان جنوب اليمن المحرر يعيش تحت وطأة تهديدات من تنظيمات إرهابية مستنفرة , تهدد الأمن والإستقرار في المنطقة وكان آخرها استهداف قائد الحزام الأمني في محافظة أبين حيث شهدت هذه المحافظة مؤخرا إنتشار جماعات متطرفه مثل القاعدة مدعومة بسلاح تتلقاه من مناطق سيطرة أنصار الله الحوثيين في الشمال ,وهو أمر يتطلب إستجابة فعالة لمكافحة هذه الظاهرة .

إن إعلان فيانا قد أدان بشدة الإنتهاكات الجسيمة والمنهجية لحقوق الإنسان التي لاتزال ترتكب في مناطق مختلفة من العالم ، هذا الإعلان أكد على أهمية التعامل الجاد مع الإنتهاكات , بما في ذلك التعذيب والمعاملة القاسية ,والإعدام بإجراءات موجزة وتعسفية , وحالات الإختفاء القسري والاحتجاز الغير القانوني .
وتتجلى أهمية هذا الإعلان في السياق اليمني ,حيث تشهد البلاد تحديات كبيرة لحقوق الإنسان.
