The Southern Independent Group held at the Swiss Press Club in Geneva on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 AD a symposium entitled "Deadly Force" in Yemen during its participation in the 48th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The seminar was opened by Mr. Berry Roche, President of the Swiss Press Club, who welcomed the attendees, then the member of the Southern Independent Group, Dr. Nasr Obeid, presented in his intervention a presentation about Shabwa governorate in southern Yemen and how the governorate turned into a hotbed of violations against innocent civilians by the Islah Brotherhood militias.
Then "Deadly Force" was shown. It is a title of a documentary film prepared by the group.
"Deadly Force" talked about the illegal violence against any civilians in Yemen by the kidnapped Yemeni government from the Islah Brotherhood Party, the film traces many cases in which state agencies were used And Brotherhood militias excessive violence, including the suppression of peaceful protests, such as the ongoing violations of the right to peaceful assembly in Shabwa.
The film also sheds light on the phenomenon of the assassination of members of the Shabwani Elite Forces, and eyewitnesses confirmed, along with the testimonies of the victims and their families, that the government forces and the Islah Brotherhood militia are behind these practices.
The comment was about the film "Deadly Force" by a member of the Southern Independent Group, lawyer Saleh Al-Noud, who spoke about the need to bring the perpetrators of these crimes and violations to the courts to take their punishment against the major crimes they committed against citizens in Shabwa and the southern governorates, led by the leaders of the Houthi militia and the Brotherhood's Islah Party which affiliated with the Yemeni government,
The lawyer also urged Al-Nod to respond to the questions submitted by a group of attendees about the human rights situation in the south and Yemen and demanded that all parties assume their responsibilities towards the suffering of the people in the south, especially the Arab coalition, which can alleviate the suffering of the people in the southern regions and not allow the people in the south to go astray hostage to the political and military repercussions outside the south.
Lawyer Al-Nod warned that the people in the south are facing a real danger represented in the Houthi militia regaining control of the southern areas in Shabwa, and that the government forces are ready to hand over the fate of the people of those areas to the Houthi militia and the consequent suffering and violations of human rights.
Lawyer Maria Mikhael also participated in Maat Organization for Peace, Development, and Human Rights. In her speech, she expressed their solidarity with the people of the south and the Yemeni people, calling for the need to stop the war and reach a permanent peace agreement for the crisis in Yemen.

عقدت المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة في نادي الصحافة السويسرى في جنيف يوم الثلاثاء ٢٨ سبتمبر ٢٠٢١م ندوة تحت عنوان "القوة المميتة" في اليمن خلال مشاركتها في الدورة ٤٨ لمجلس الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الانسان.
افتتح الندوة السيد بيري روتشي رئيس نادي الصحافة السويسرية رحب بالحضور،ثم تحدث عضو المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة الدكتور نصر عبيد قدم في مداخلته عرض عن محافظة شبوة في جنوب اليمن وكيف تحولت المحافظة الى بؤرة للانتهاكات ضد المدنيين الابرياء من قبل ميلشيات حزب الإصلاح الاخواني المحسوبة على الحكومة اليمنية المعترف بها دوليا.
ثم تم عرض "القوة المميتة" هو عنوان فيلم وثائقي من إعداد المجموعة، "القوة المميتة" تحدث عن العنف غير القانوني ضد ال اي مدنيين في اليمن من قبل الحكومة اليمنية المختطفة من حزب الإصلاح الإخواني، يتتبع الفيلم العديد من الحالات التي استخدمت فيها أجهزة الدولة والمليشات الإخوانية العنف المفرط بما في ذلك قمع الاحتجاجات السلمية مثل الانتهاكات المستمرة ضد الحق في التجمع السلمي في شبوة.
كما سلط الفيلم الضوء على ظاهرة اغتيال عناصر من قوات النخبة الشبوانية ، شهادات شهود عيان بالإضافة إلى شهادات الضحايا وعائلاتهم تشير بوضوح إلى أن القوات الحكومية وميليشيات حزب الإصلاح الإخواني وراء هذه الممارسات ، بشكل مقلق ، مدعومة من قبل الجماعات المتطرفة والإرهابية والعناصر المتمركزة في مناطق سيطرة الحكومة المعترف بها دوليا.
كان التعليق عن فليم "القوة المميتة" لعضو المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة المحامي صالح النود والذي تحدث عن ضرورة تقديم مرتكبي تلك الجرائم والانتهاكات الى المحاكم ليأخذوا جزائهم العادل بحق ما ارتكبوا من جرائم كبيرة وفضيعة بحق المواطنين في شبوة وبقية محافظات الجنوب واليمن وفي مقدمتهم قادة مليشيا الحوثي وحزب الإصلاح الاخواني المحسوب على الحكومة اليمنية المعترف بها دوليا، كما حث المحامي النود بالرد على الاسئلة التي قدمها مجموعة من الحضور عن حالة حقوق الانسان في الجنوب واليمن وطالب كل الاطراف تحمل مسؤلياتها تجاه معاناة الشعب في الجنوب وعلى راسها التحالف العربي الذي يملك القدرة على تخفيف معاناة الناس في المناطق الجنوبية وعدم السماح للشعب في الجنوب ان يضل رهينة للتداعيات السياسية والعسكرية خارج الجنوب.
وحذر المحامي النود من ان الشعب في الجنوب امام خطر حقيقي يتمثل في استعادة مليشيات الحوثي السيطرة على المناطق الجنوبية التي تحت سيطرة القوات الحكومية والتي اظهرت احداث الايام الماضية في شبوة ان تلك القوات مستعدة ان تسلم مصير ابناء تلك المناطق لمليشيات الحوثي وما سيترتب على ذلك من معاناة وانتهاكات لحقوق الانسان.
كما شاركت المحامية ماريا مخائيل عن منظمة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الانسان عبرت في كلمتها عن تضامنهم مع شعب الجنوب والشعب اليمني، داعية الى ضرورة وقف الحرب والوصول الى اتفاق سلام دائم للازمة في جهة اليمن.
