Statement of the Southern Independent Group

The militias of the legitimate government have arrested eight children, and according to available information one child is among the children detained by the "Lakab al-Sharif" or the so-called special forces in Shabwa. Here, some of the names of the arrested children are monitored :

1- Omar Muhammad Awad Al-Hofli, 15 years old - Mayfaa District.

2- Salem Muhammad Shatif, 14 years old - Habban District.

There are also a number of others whose names will be verified.

The Southern Independent Group which monitors and documents crimes and violations of the rules and provisions of international law, international humanitarian law and human rights, confirms that these violations committed by groups belonging to the legitimate forces violate all these laws, as violations have become continuous and do not exclude children or adults, we in the Southern Independent Group condemn these crimes and demand the government Legitimacy and the Arab coalition to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, to deal seriously and firmly with these violations, and to work to stop them.

The Southern Independent Group reaffirms that the continuation of these crimes and violations against civilians and children in Shabwa threatens public peace and creates a fertile environment for reprisals and counter-violence, and this will complicate the situation and increase the suffering of civilians in these areas.

The group also renews its appeal to all United Nations and organizations , to take a serious and fruitful move to stop these violations and prevent these militias from committing more crimes and violations.
