The SIG participates in a women's rights symposium in Geneva

The topic of southern women took center stage in an international symposium held on Wednesday, 3 July 2019, at the United Nations Human Rights Council building in Geneva, attended by many governmental delegations and international organizations where human rights activist Hind Ameeran presented the South Paper.

The southern paper included a comparison between what was the case of the southern woman in the independent state of the south and what is the current situation in which the southern woman lives under the unity state with the Yemen Arab Republic .

Southern activist Hind Omairan spoke of the marginalization of southern women after the Yemeni unity, calling for the necessity of empowering the southern woman in the upcoming political process and the necessity of her participation in at least 30% in the upcoming peace process for the crisis in the Yemen side.

The participation comes within the framework of the Southern Independent Group program to cover the sessions of the Human Rights Council that work to deliver the southern issue to the international community and the right of the people of the South to decide their own destiny and build their independent state.

أحتل موضوع المرأة الجنوبية مكان الصدارة في ندوة دولية عقدت ظهر اليوم الأربعاء ٣ يوليو ٢٠١٩م في مبنى مجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة في جنيف , حضرها العديد من الوفود الحكومية والمنظمات الدولية حيث قدمت الورقه الجنوبية الناشطة الحقوقية هند عميران. و تضمنت الورقة الجنوبية مقارنة بين ما كنت علية المرأه الجنوبية ابان دولة الجنوب المستقلة وماهو الوضع الحالي الذي تعيشه المرأه الجنوبية في ظل دولة الوحدة مع الجمهورية العربية اليمنية، حيث تحدثت الناشطة الجنوبية هند عميران عن دور المراءة الجنوبية والتهميش الشبه متعمد الذي تعرضت له بعد الوحدة اليمنية بعد ان كانت رائدة في العمل الاجتماعي والسياسي إبان دولة الجنوب السابقة داعيه الى ضرورة تمكين المراءة في العملية السياسية القادمة وضرورة مشاركتها فيما لا يقل عن ٣٠٪ في عملية السلام القادمة للازمة في جهة اليمن

وتأتي المشاركة في إطار برنامج المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة لتغطية دورات مجلس حقوق الإنسان والتي تعمل على توصيل القضية الجنوبية إلى مسامع المجتمع الدولي وحق شعب الجنوب في تقرير مصيره وبناء دولته المستقلة.
