SIG holds an important meeting with the Panel of the UN Special Rapporteur on Enforced Disappearances.

This morning, the delegation of SIG met at the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva with the United Nations Special Rapporteur team on Enforced Disappearances.
The group’s delegation reviewed several points for discussion with the Special Rapporteur’s team most notably, the mechanism for monitoring and submitting communications regarding the forcibly disappeared expresses the need to put pressure on the internationally recognized Yemeni government to ratify all agreements related to the prohibition of enforced disappearance.
Several cases of forcibly disappeared people were reviewed in all governorates of the south and Yemen committed by all parties to the conflict, which resulted in a large number of cases of political, media, and community activists who were forcibly disappeared.
In addition to some examples of those who forcibly disappeared in the prisons of the Houthi militia, the conditions of their disappearance, and the militia’s practices in their areas of control.
Enforced disappearance has become one of the militias' methods since their coup against the state in 2015.
The group presented a form through the Zoom program during the meeting, during which journalist Essam Balghaith spoke about how they were kidnapped and hidden by the Houthi militia in 2015, noting that four journalists are still hidden, and their families do not know anything about them, and they were previously sentenced to death.
In turn, the team of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Enforced Disappearances affirmed their full solidarity with the victims and their families, assuring the Southern Group that they take all necessary measures and cooperate with the Southern Group for continuous coordination at all levels related to their framework within and outside the UN Human Rights Council.
المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة تعقد لقاءً هاماً مع فريق المقرر الخاص المعني بالاختفاء القسري التابع للأمم المتحدة.

التقى صباح اليوم وفد المجموعة الجنوبية المستقلة في مقر مجلس الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الانسان بجنيف بفريق المقرر الخاص المعني بالاختفاء القسري التابع للأمم المتحدة.
وأستعرض وفد المجموعة عدد من النقاط لمناقشتها مع فريق المقرر الخاص أبرزها آلية رصد ورفع البلاغات الخاصة بالمخفيين قسراً، معبرا عن ضرورة الضغط على الحكومة اليمنية المعترف بها دوليا بالمصادقة على كل الاتفاقيات المتعلقة بحظر الإخفاء القسري.
كما تم استعراض عدد من النماذج والحالات للمخفيين قسراً في عموم محافظات الجنوب واليمن ارتكبتها جميع اطراف النزاع مما نتج عنه عدد كبير من الحالات لنشطاء سياسيين و اعلاميين ومجتمعين تم اخفائهم قسراً، بالاضافة الى بعض النماذج للمخفيين في سجون ميليشيات الحوثي وظروف إخفائهم وممارسات الميليشيا في مناطق سيطرتهم حيث بات الاخفاء القسري أحد أساليب الميليشيا منذ انقلابهم على الدولة عام 2015.
وقدمت المجموعة نموذج عبر برنامج الزوم أثناء اللقاء تحدث خلالها الصحفي عصام بلغيث عن كيفية اختطفائهم واخفائهم من قبل ميليشيا الحوثي عام 2015 مشيراً لوجود أربعة من الصحفيين مازالوا مخفيين ولايعلم أهاليهم عنهم شي وحكم عليهم في وقت سابق بالاعدام.

بدروه اكد فريق المقرر الخاص المعني بالاختفاء القصري التابع للأمم المتحدة عن تضامنهم الكامل مع الضحايا وأسرهم مؤكدين للمجموعة الجنوبية على ان يتخذون كافة الاجراءات اللازمة والتعاون مع المجموعة الجنوبية للتنسيق المستمر على كافة المستويات المتعلقة بإطار عملهم في مجلس الامم المتحدة لحقوق الانسان وخارجه
